While photographing from the summit of Roys Peak, I watched as a storm swept across Lake Wānaka, shrouding the landscape in mist. Rather than heading home, I took a chance and made one final stop at the iconic Wānaka Tree. As I set up my camera, the clouds briefly parted, allowing shafts of warm evening light to illuminate the lone willow against the approaching storm. The moment lasted only minutes before the light disappeared once more, creating this atmospheric image that is now available as a limited edition of just ten fine art prints.
